Heading North towards Santiago
After a couple of days on the beach in Faro, we headed north arriving in Porto on Thursday last week.

In Faro our Hotel was on the other side of the lagoon to the airport in Faro and had a strong echo of M Hulot's Holiday. Not swanky, but comfy room, good food and a decent beach.

Our first Intercity train from Faro was very comfortable, and as it arrived 30 min late into Lisbon Oriente starion. That was just as well.
After a wait on Oriente – pro tip: go to a nearby hotel and sit in their air-conditioned lobby if your connection involves more than a one hour wait – we boarded the traveling sauna which took us to Porto.

We had a great few days in Porto with some family members who joined us there. Highlights were the Cockburns Port Tour, and a great meal at the Ribera Square Restaurante.

Today we said goodbye to the kids and started the walk to Santiago. As you know, we're not too hair-shirt about the process. Its your Camino, do it your way.

But at Matoshinos the bridge over the harbour is closed for three months. Rather than walk round the diversion. We took a cab.
So now we're here in Leca da Palmeria in our room with provisions for tea, and at least one World Cup match to look forward to later.
