Albufeira, we could have had it large

Albufeira in Portugal is a lively spot.

Albufeira, we could have had it large
Leaving on a slow train

...But we didn't.

We got off the bus from Huelva after an early game of Bus Roulette... which platform (if any) would our bus arrive on (19).

Then we were given a bonus game. This was, would we catch the connecting service at Faro for Albufeira?

Tension mounted as we got later and later.

In the end, we had two minutes and just managed to scrape on. We had plenty of time to work out alternatives, including the train which was about 400m from the bus station.

Ra, ra Rasputin... He was a cat that really was gone

Boney M's RASPUTIN greeted at the first cafe we stopped at in Albufeira us as we had a coffee and scrambled eggs on toast rather than the Full English.

Time for a Fanta

We were early for the accommodation, so we wandered down to the sea, found another cafe had some Fanta then did some grocery shopping before we got a cab to our flat.

We caught the cab on the strip, and if you wanted a night out... that would be the place to go.

The flat was in a complex about 10 min from downtown.

I t was good to see the Northern Irish family there for the wedding, and the lively Londoners a little later.

Night time looking seawards

The flat was very nice. Very quiet. An excellent bed... probably a latex mattress. Classy. We had a pool view.

Three days by the pool before we left to travel North.

After 37°C (99F) in the past week we need to re-acclimatise for Buxton. Or the shock could be considerable.
